To use one side of  book as a back page all you need to do is skip the last 4 color changes, when you remove it from your hoop trim just out side the edge stitching as this will help as a guide for lining it up.
You will then insert design  and finish off the page where you place the back.

I used gross grain ribbon to attach the pages.  You can use what you like.

Hope you enjoy!

  3. Pauline Martin says:

Are the pages suppose to have pictures on only one side?

  4. Teresa says:

I guess I don’t fully understand how to open up different parts of the same design and get them to match up in the hoop. These instructions are great for designs that are all in one file, but the designs I got are broken down into lots of different files. Am I just not getting the concept? Please Help. Thanks, Teresa

  5. ss says:

  9. Bonnie says:

    Ladies,
Hope all of you that are having trouble read this.
Some have downloaded the SEW format, sorry but you can’t use the files as such due to them not being able to be converted right to the sew format. I have inquired about doing a set for that for format.
As for the back of the page, you can use a colorful fabric for the the back or if you stitch out one of the sides and skip the last 4 color changes you can then use this side for a back. Insert it for the back.

Oops–just found these instructions–I,too am going to be a new g’maw–can’t wait to get this cutie of a book done for our little Abigail–I tried one page w/out the instructions–no go–I’m a newbie at this–love your designs, Bonnie–wish me luck with them all especially this one–thanks again–I’m enjoying this new exp.sort of,ha!–Steph

  11. stephanie says:

Bonnie–have been learning to applique–and doing great with your book–however I’m on the TOYS page and there were no stitch around the design lines to hold batting and fabric to stabilizer like the others–in other words it went straight from placement line to the first design(ball)–I’m not quite through, but what I did was skip back and use the placement line to hold batting and fabric to hoop, then I went ahead and started stitching the ball–any suggestions–I’ve tried everything I could think of–apparantly it just was left out–other than that, I love this cutie and it is my first project for my first grand to be born in March–this was just a sampler I did to learn applique–thanks so much for all your hard digitizing–I got the membership and all your designs–and I’m headed to StitchArt Designs for more as soon as I can get there–Steph.

  12. grandma Shari says:

I am thinking of doing this book also for a baby gift but wonder if it would be easier to do two pages (front and back) and sew them together on three sides then stuff it with a plastic grocery sack to make it a crinkly sound.
Then go around it in a narrow seam. When you get each of the pages together, connect them with ribbon as she did. I will have to play around with it and see what works :-)

  14. Stephanie says:

It’s me again–4 Baby Books later–and I just love this project–am giving as gifts for those I work with who need baby gifts or am giving as baby gift. I have a little trick that gives the book the crinkly sound when you touch the pages–I use a piece of cellophane, you know the type you use to wrap gift baskets or fruit baskets. You can get it in the craft setions of most stores-. I put it in when you put the back piece of fabric on at the end of each design. Cut it a little bit bigger than the appligue design, but make sure the piece of fabric is bigger so it will stick to the back after you spray the adhesive on. Try this and I’m sure you’ll like the effect! Thanks again, Bonnie for a great project.

  15. Nancy says:
