Card Trick

by Marilyn

This is about the card reader and the card.
I encountered a problem with the card reader not recognizing the card that was the right card for the reader. I purchased 12 files from an  online website.  I wrote them to my card by way of the card writer/reader. I then was going to sew one of them but didn’t know what one I wanted to sew so I put it back in the reader writer to view them and I was unable to read them as the card reader/writer said that the card was not the right card and to put in the right card.  In short I played with it and came up with a fix. I just rewrote to the card (which it would let me do) and after that the card has been working fine. Boy was I happy to find that out.  The cards are about $100.00 to replace. So if you ever have that problem I hope this information will help fix your problem.  I still have the problem when ever I write any of those files to my card.

I have problems like this all the time with the card (the card for the Husq Viking D2) and have to find work arounds and re-write them all the time. I’m not at all happy with this as one would expect much more from an expensive machine. And that the cards are so $$ IF you can find them and they are no longer making them. I will be thinking very hard when it comes time to buy another machine whether I buy Husq Viking again. This problem with the cards seems to be with all of them not just a few users. I feel your angst!

I have a card that just stopped working. I am not able to write to it, so it’s useless. Says the same thing, not correct card etc.

If it is your machine telling you this make sure you have the correct size hoop checked when you load the card. That happened to me, went to the dealer to buy a new card. They told me to check that before spending the money.

this problem also happens when computers are updated – you may need to update your software – check the website for patches. Vista does create serious problems with embroidery cards. Had the same problem, but realized it was because Vista has 2 settings, so went to software website for patch – works great now.
