I would NEVER in a million years use a pen to mark my fabric. for at least 20 years i have been using (exclusively) the air erasable pens.
they come in pink or purple. I prefer the purple because it shows up on everything, even the darker fabrics. Pink might be the way to go if you are marking black, of course.

After a day (2 at the most) the markings go away all by themselves!!!!! When I buy, I buy 2 and when I start using the second one, I buy another one. I think I would panic if I didn't have one when I needed it.

Anyway - hope this helps somebody to ease their marking steps. (I even use it on plastic canvas)

I also use a spray bottle. I have found that if it is a material I haven't used before I check to make sure it would come out first. I have had towel sets that I have started and didn't get the set finished and have left the blue in for a while (a couple months even) and it has washed out really easy. I do know it warns you never to apply heat so I am careful for that.

I take it you are talking roll on type of bottle. Wonderful idea!

Thank you for this idea, usually keep water in a small milk jug thingy, without exception always knock it over. Have also ruined items by pressing embroidery without first removing blue pen. Some times it takes a while to learn by My mistakes. :-)
