Double Duty
     Released October 31, 2008

by Ruth Bittner

When I purchased my embroidery machine I also purchased a second hoop.
I use the second hoop two different ways.

1) I use it when I embroider towels.  I match the hoops together so
the designs are matched and the finished towels have designs
identically placed.

2) I use the second hoop when I am using applique designs. While one
is sewing I can cut the designs on the other hoop. Then I switch hoops
and cut the second one and continue to sew on the other one. Applique
design projects get done very quickly using two hoops.

  2. I have two so that when I am clipping the threads on the first one, I can start another design. Keeping the first one tight on the hoop makes it so much easier to clip threads close to the sewing.

And my sewing space is so messy, I can always find atleast one hoop when I am in a hurry to get something done ha ha

  5. I have 2 hoops also. screw that holds spring striped out. So now, I have used a Strong rubber band and wrapped around screw. It is tight. I use it also. Always have something ready for machine when it stops sewing. 2 Hoops are great saves time.I could buy new screw But rubber band is working fine.

  7. I have two hoops also, but mine are different sizes, second is 2x as big. I used a sharpie to mark the big hoop where the smaller hoops sewing area is.
