Project by Joann
I used the “Fresh and Funky” and “Funky Flowers”, which I both loved, by the way, to make a quilt for my grandniece.
I love to look at others’ projects so thought I would submit it.
The front is made out of all denim and the back is made out of flannel, so it is quite heavy, but very warm.

This is really cute. Thanks for sharing your pictures. What a great aunt you are.. makes me feel bad I don’t have the ones done for my nieces and nephews yet.. working on the ones for my grandson, granddaughter and the twins that are coming in December!
This is amazing. The layout is perfect for a teenagers room. Traditional but “funky”. I love it, very nicely done. Debbie
Great job. Surely it will be loved and used for a long time.
This is gorgeous. I’d love the pattern. I have two grandaughters that this would be perfect for. Nice work!
WOW ~ That looks like a lot of hard work…very pretty! I bet it will keep her nice and warm and be very special to her…thnks for sharing
This is the coolest , rocking-est , quilt I have ever seen. I love it ! What a great piece of art…and a beautiful quilt, too.
funky aunt!
I love your quilt. Can you email me the directions?

A very warm and colorful quilt that is sure to be treasured for many years. We have a denim quilt that my mother-in-law made when we got married and it has lasted a long time (just celebrated our 45th anniv). Keep up the beautiful embroidery and quilting. Love SICK designs!
love the quilt and i’m sure she did also.

Beautiful work!! A labor of Love. Your Grandniece is a lucky Girl.
Glad you submitted your quilt. I’m not a quilter but like to see them.
Well done, Joann! That is one of the cutest quilts I’ve seen in quite a while!
Great quilt. Denim is hard to work in small pieces. What a treasure for your Grand-niece.
Thanks everyone. It was fun to make, but did take a while. Judy and Carole asked for directions. I just found a quilt block I liked on the internet and used The Favorite Block, http://www.quilterscache.com/F/FavoriteBlockBlock.html There are directions there on how to make it. I recycled old colored jeans for the colored denim. The second picture is the back made out of flannel. The flannel I wanted to use I didn’t have enough of so I had to add borders around it so there would be enough. I just loved the embroideries. They were so much fun to do and so funky!! LOL If you have any more questions, I would be glad to answer them. Thanks again.
