CJ tells us:
Our quilting group makes quilts for soldiers and veterans and also for
babies. Most of our baby quilts and blankets end up at nearby hospital.
Our quilts for veterans and soldiers go to one of our local VA hospitals and
to veterans in the area. Although we’re a very small bunch we get a lot
done.
This quilt was made using the 5×7 designs of JN Lil Angels 1. The blocks
are rectangular – longer than wide. Wide strips of bright stars and clouds
were cut to sash the blocks. A narrow strip of yellow was added for a
yellow border and a pink print was added around the yellow to bring out the
pink of the angels. One member stitched the blocks, another cut the fabric
strips and sewed the inside portion of the quilt, and a third member added
the borders and quilted the quilt. The quilt was donated to a hospital in
the valley.
