How to Applique the Country Girls Set and others like it
     Released April 20, 2007

How to Applique

First hoop your fabric and stablizer and run your first color in the list.
image

This is your placement
stitches for the fabric that you are going to use for the design.  It can be
the fabric and color of your choice.

Next put your fabric down and
run the 2 yellow, (ie still your color choice in that they will be hidden by
satin stitches.)  see picture below.

image

Now, do not UN_HOOP but trim
the excess fabric away from stitches.  See Picutre below of trimmed.

Now you are ready to go to
the next part and color of your dress for your lady.

I put my applique in the
following order

I put my applique parts first
to the best of my ability, and then face, hands and other embroidery parts are
then embroideied, (ie, not always in the order of face and hands first, but
just embroidied parts)

Then the satin stitches are
last to go into the designs.

Thank you and I hope this
helps all who need these instructions, if not please contact me at hj41@se-tel.com

  5. Thanks for the help.
I guess I always thought this type of design/project way beyond my skill level but it is really not hard to do! With a bit of practice the outcome potential is great.

  15. How do you hold your different fabrics for applique? I still don’t get it. I have never done it and have quite a few of applique designs that I would like to try. Could somebody give me some detailed info? Just think that you are doing for dummies. That is how I feel! How big do you cut the fabric? Etc , etc. Thanks. Vilma
