Base of Boxes –
This pertains to all bottoms
1 — Hoop tear-a-away stabilizer or a heavy wash-a-way (wash-a-way doesn’t leave fuzzes behind) sew color change 1 this is an outline.
Place fabric over top of hoop making sure it covers all the stitching or you can take hoop off the machine spray with spray adhesive and place top fabric over the outline then place hoop back on machine.
2—Stitch color change 2. This will stitch down the top fabric to the stabilizer.
3—This color change 3 is the background stitch pattern. A tone on tone color is good for this stitching.
4—Remove hoop and spray back with temporary spray (kk2000 is what I use) or you can float the fabric under the hoop. Which ever is best for you.
Then stitch color change 4. This will attach the pieces together in the hoop. After this remove hoop and trim all excess fabric close to stitching being careful not clip thread.
5—Stitch color change 5. This will do a zig-zag around the edge of fabric to help secure it in place and give a better foundation for the satin stitching.
6—Stitch color change 6. This is the finished satin stitching around edge.

To put the box together:

Colors are of your choice so be creative except for the Monogram front.
A variegated thread looks nice for back ground stitching.
Enjoy!

Thank you for the great instructions for making an embroidered box. I can hardly wait to make one now that I see how they can be made.
How do you create the holes for the ribbon to go through?
Thanks so much for all of your instructions for our projects. I always print mine out and keep them right beside me. The project sets are my favorites because I can actually make something with your great designs! Keep ‘em coming! Penny

I don’t get it, I deserve a picture. So the top of each side has a point and a hole? And the bottom is smaller than the top? Or are 2 of the sides square like the bottom and the other 2 have points and holes? Any insite would be most useful. Thank you.
