Peony Quilt Block

Instructions:
This set has 16 blocks. They can be stitched out as one big block, or 4 blocks making the flower block.

1. the first color of stitching will serve a guide line for sewing the blocks together when finished, and also serve a basting stitch

2. placement stitch for the area you cover with applique material.  the applique material can be held in place with adhesive

3. cut a piece of material a little larger than the area you are covering, the applique material can be     held in place with adhesive

4. after the third color stitches, trim close to the stitching

5. this is the satin stitch

6. after all the stitching is finished, remove from the hoop, and trim 1/4 inch from the basting (this was the first color that stitched out)

Stitch together any way you wish.

I hope you enjoy this set.

The artwork is Dover.

Thank you! I am always glad to get instructions for the sets, it helps so much. I hope there will be more project type designs to come as they make such great gifts and it isn’t always easy to come up with ways of using the designs, at least for me! And I hope a blank will be included so we can personalize it. Thanks again, Penny

Hi Stitched out the Pumpkin Friends – they are great. Also bought the Peony Quilt set, and am working on it now. Just what I was looking for to finish a wall hanging I’ve been working on. Only one wish…that you had digitized a row of stitching 1/4″ out from the first row of stitching to use as a cutting guide. Would make the process go much quicker. Love your designs. Myrna

Yes I have to agree with Myrna. I wish more digitizers did put that 1/4″ outline on the design for us. It sure would help us newbies. Mary

Did I write that many comments about my fabric?
Oh, no – now I see there are a lot of other contributors. Ha
My husband claims he cannot find me when I am sewing and I really don’t have THAT much fabric – only when I start to make something and notice that I don’t have the colors or fabric that I need for the project. I plan on clearing some out by making lap quilts for the nursing home, as well as children’s quilts for this coming December when our church posts the “wants” for some needy families. You can never have too much for those projects.

Is some kind of stabilizer needed under the fabric (the base fabric, not the applique fabric?
    Thanks.
