Perfect Monograms

By Julie KozaTo ensure my monograms are straight on the towel I use a 3 inch wide quilting ruler. With  a quilting ruler lined up against the band of towel I mark a line with chalk or soap along other edge of ruler. Then mark center of towel.  Use this straight line as a guide in your hoop / template for straight monograms with no measuring. Where two intersect you place center of design.

Thank you for the tip. I have made several towels and found once finished, they were on a slant. I will try your tip next time i monogram.

with 15 years doikng monograming you are very experienced. What stabalizer do you use for towels? Lately I have been using wash away with fibrous fibers in it. Hope the embroidery stands up to the washing of towels. Do not like to see stabalizer on finished product.
