Pink and Purple Lacy Quilt Blocks
     Released July 11, 2010

by Sandy
“When I saw your “Lacy Quilt Blocks 1″ I couldn’t help but try a design with them.  The neighbor girl who is 10 came over and told me to make them in pink and purple.  Seems like pink and purple are the colors that  old and young are liking right now.  So that is what I did using the blocks.  There is 16 blocks sewed together in the center of this one.   I put it in a diamond shape in the lap quilt.  I like trying different things.  The blocks sewed out again with great ease and looked great each time.  Thanks again for the beautiful designs that you come up with.”

“I try to have a couple of quilts made up for different events that come up.  In the past events come up and people need donations for benefits for people with cancer to raise money to help pay medical expenses.  So I like to have something ready.  Then they make great wedding gifts or baby shower gifts and of course Christmas gifts.  So right at this moment in time I am not sure where this one will end up. ”

  4. Hi Sandi,
Did you sew the design on just fabric or did you use batting and backing too? I want to try quilting with some of these designs and don’t know what batting to use so it looks good on the back side too. I would appreciate your help.I really like the way you framed the design with the pink and purple frames.

  13. I used a lightweight stablizer to stitch the blocks and then sewed them together. Each block is a 4 blocks sewn together after the design is stitched. The center block is 16 single blocks sewn together. Since I am fairly new to this I am not sure how to put this together so that it would show on both sides. If there is someone out there who has been doing this longer maybe they can help. On this quilt I used a polyester batting when I put the three layers together. I wanted a puffier look. I wish I could have been more help but hopefully someone will be able to help on having the design show on both sides. Sandy OH

  15. Love The “Lace Quilt Block 2″ designs. Any chance it will ever be done for the 4×4 hoop? That’s all I have. Thanks, Rosebud

  17. what size hoop did you use?

    Comment by frances — July 14, 2010 @ 6:09 pm

  18. I used the 5×7 hoop and I have a Singer Futura machine so the hoop is smaller and is not an actual 5×7. Sandy OH
