The weather is beautiful and everyone wants to be outside enjoying all nature has to offer. Why not bring a little bit of nature inside as you create something unique with the newest set available?
Bonnie’s “Bugs in a Jar” design set is perfect for doing just that! Some of these cute little bugs are safely tucked away in jars and there are also some still available to catch! Scatter the extras outside the jar and create an entire scene! She has even included the word “Bugs” in the set!
How cute would these be on a beach tote made of screen fabric?

Instructions:
Supplies:
Fabric of your choice
Thread of your choice
Vinyl – I suggest using the iron on type as it will hold up in the dryer better.
These are really simple to do and look so cute when finished!
1) The first color in all designs is the placement stitch for the vinyl then you stitch
the you stitch the design.

2) After stitching the grass place your vinyl over the hoop and design.

3) Stitch the next CC (color change) – this will tack down the vinyl
4) Remove hoop from machine and trim vinyl close to stitching
5) Return hoop to machine and finish stitching.

Where does one get iron on vinyl? This is a cute project.
These are so cute I can not wait to do them up. I was wondering where you can buy the iron on vinyl?
Also have you done them on screening if so how does the vinyl hold up on it.
Love the idea very cute, thank you for sharing
You can purchase iron on vinyl at JoAnn’s pre
cut on a roll, or by the yard. It is usually
kept in with the pellon.
I bought mine at JoAnns. It comes in a small roll Package. Its good to use on bibs and things.
Good idea Bonnie about using them on screening like for a tote bag.
With screening you would need to still use fabric as a base as the designs are lite stitches and I think I would use just a heavy regular vinyl and it should be fine.

Hi,I just wanted to say that i made your bug in a jar & it turned out excellent .My helpful info is to say here in our home hardware stores you can buy three thickness of plastic.People use these to cover nice tableclothes etc.Well the lightweigh one works perfect for this project & our sewing machines sew this with no trouble.I hope you give it a try

I made a little tote bag using the Bugs in a jar design. I had the vinyl from years past (not iron on). Check out the May/June contest in the forum where I entered my treasure.
