Love the Mike and girl paper doll! For your next doll can you make a black girl or boy. four of my grands are bi-racial and it would be nice to make them a doll that looks like them and has clothes to match. I could then make outfits for the doll when I make them a new outfit. great for quite pew activity! Love this site!

has anyone thought about laminating the doll part? what about alittle tote for the girls to carry their dolls in m just opens flat with handles?we girls need lots more clothes and shoe outfits please!!!! my daughter can’t get enough! i could really use some boy toy dolls- monsters,cowboys,spacemen,bugs. i’m with everyone i love it here and think of everyone as family.

I’m so happy that everyone is so happy with the paper dolls and have some great ideas for them. Hopefully the lord will keep my brain fresh for new ideas for them.

This is a very good idea and I think all the kids will like it. I remember when we were kids, even my brother liked to play with our paper dolls. I later started to draw my own on carton and also made the clothes. You can put a few coats of Modge Podge at the back and front of the doll and then it only need a wipe with a wet cloth and hola, clean it is again. Even the clothes can be treated like that, especially if the child is still small. Keep up the good work and let the juices keep thinking of grand new ideas.

Love the paper dolls I have been looking for these and anymore anyone can help me with. My daughter works with handicap children and has been asking me for paper dolls with all of the clothes and things we wear or use everyday to use wth the children. I am making these but was wondering if there is anyway you would try to make these dolls with seperate clothes shoes and hats just anything that will make a differance for these children would be greatly appreciated. Could we have just the head of this paperdoll? I do not have software to split just the head. I would be willing to make it on 2 layers of felt, and then cut the body out and sew by hand. I only have a 4×4 area, so I cannot use the doll. This would be a great gift for my 5 gr daughters.

You can also do the paperdolls on good quality felt. It works really well. To hold the clothes on you can use some of the tack it over and over glue or temporary spray adhesive on the back of the clothes. Store them on wax paper or freezer paper shiney side up glued to cardboard.

Heidi, love this set and thanks bunches for writing a great tutorial.
I plan on making several sets for the ‘big kids’ in my family. The oldest being my mama who is 85.
The fabrics I plan to use will consist of old doilies made by my granny, clothes that are tattered that were mine and my brother’s and my daughter who I lost in 1989. A special set using her clothes…just for me.

Some Paper Dolls to make with a 4×4 hoop would be great also. Some of us just have 4×4 hoops. The design is very pretty. Just wish I could use it.

As usual Hiedi has come up with something great I have 6 Great grand daughters ,This will be good for stocking stuffers Thank you again.I have done alot of her appli designs for the girls blankets an just finished the snowman man one.I think it will go to Great grampa,It gets cold in Wis.

This is a very clever idea … I would like to have some sun bonnets like this so that we have different gifts to give … I have 3 g.dauthters … if I want them to play togeghet I better give them such dolls but different !!!

Instead of using plastic canvas I have used foam sheets with the sticky back. They really are a lot of fun to make and use. Everyone will want to play with them.

Heidi, thanks bunches for the great Project of the Week instructions! The Paper Doll set is fabulous, and while I know it will provide hours of fun for the youngsters…it will also bring the kid out in all those who embroider and make the set.

I look forward to making the set…just for me. tee hee. My plan for the applique pieces is to use fabric from some of my daughters clothing I’ve kept over the years. I lost her in 1989 and this will be my tribute to her.

i haven’t done any applique, nor have I done the “paper dolls” so this may very well be my next project.

Now to find applique instructions. I saw a video by holly at ATW somewhere this morning.

Thanks for the paper dolls. They are REALLY cute.

Applique by emb. mach. is always so hard to get a clean edge without little “pokies”. I realize it would be harder to digitize,,,,, but,,,,,,,,, I would be more likely to make them if they were totaly stitched. They would be stiffer and much neater for me. They could be done on felt, a fabric that does not ravel so a clean edge is a certainty. Anyone else dislike frayed edges? Perhaps a slightly wider satin stitch edging?

I am looking for a paper doll, a real doll, I don’t know what I mean. Like Raggedy Ann or any other doll. I know that the one that Martha Pullen did are not anymore in the market…but something like that is what I will love, this is cute for a little girl and the wardrobe is wonderful. Congratulations.
