I like to snip and clean all the threads on the back of my embroidery. I use sharp scissors and trim as many as I can, then I use a sticky roll of tape (a lint roller can also be used) and run it over the piece to pick up any strays. The ‘sticky roll’ also will pick up stray thread on the floor. When the roll is filled with thread, just tear off that sheet and a new one is ready.

I do not have one of those roll sticky items, but I do have lots of sticky back stablizer. I use it to remove cut threads on the back of my embroidery item. I also use it to pick up things like thread, small pieces of paper, and other things that are on the floor.
If you cut it into small strips you can also use it to keep your thread from coming off of the spool.
Those are just a fe of the things that I use sticky back stablizer scraps that will be thrown out.
I use the lint roller all the time. for the front of in the hoop projects. Like when using batting etc. I noticed it gets on the front when trimming. works so well.
I do exactly the same!!!
THANK YOU FOR TELLING PEOPLE HOW THEY CAN CLEAN UP THE THREADS SAFELY.THESE LITTLE THREADS ARE DANGEROUS FOR TODDLERS AND ANIMALS. IF THE STRING IS LONG ENOUGH IT CAN GET WRAPPED AROUND THEIR TONGE OR THEIR INTESTINES CAUSEING EXTREME DANGER EVEN DEATH.WE SHOULD ALL BE AWARE OF THESE THREADS AND DISPOSE OF THEM SAFELY. THANK YOU FOR PRINTING THE ARTICLE. FRANCES
I also have the roll on sticky paper as well as one specially made for the floor. It is much wider, rounder and has the long handle so you aren’t crawling on your hands and knees to pick them all up. It is wonderful. I bought that plus 2 replacement rolls at the time so I would have plenty! Great tool for any seamstress or embroiderer.
a hard toilet bowl brush, use in circular movement on floor or carpet (some of us use a spare bedroom) it picks up loose threads easily.
I also use a small lint shaver to get the really short bits of thread off my embroidery. Of course I always miss a bit here or there. But the shaver gets most of the ones hard to snip with scissors.
Thanks for the suggestion about the sticky back stabelizer. I just threw some away yesterday. Guess i won’t being doing that anymore.
