Melanie- sorry to hear about your daughter's "help"! Hmm, unfortunately I'd say it comes to trial and error. when you can find a little bit of time, perhaps guess and make post it labels accordingly? Then when you have a specific project you want to work on, you will have at least narrowed it down to which ones you need. When you figure out exactly what one is, you could label it in a more permanent way such as a bag with a label from a label maker, a pin with a piece of cloth with the type written in permanent marker, or clear bags with the type written in permanent marker. Good luck!

i have a problem!!! i received a large stack of stabilizers as a part of a bundle when i bought my machine.over the weekend i learned that my daughter, thinking she was helping mommy has removed all the labels and separating all the types thus confusing me greatly, from the pile. i have not been at it long enough to just look or feel and be able to tell which kind each is.ANY HELP OUT THERE ? how do i accurately determine the proper type and weight of each ? i REALLY don't want to use the wrong ones by accident.
 thanks so much!

I had the same problem with storing my stabilizers, except I had mine piled into a box that sat ont he floor. What I did was to purchase a shoe organizer (like shelves) and it provides tons of space to organize my stabilizer by type and size. A picture of it and other storage solutions can be seen on my blog: http://threadstofabric.blogspot.com

My method takes little space, too. I purchased wire bins from storesupply.com and assembled them with opening facing out. They are 14" x 14" and can be stacked. Mine are 5 high. I hooked them to the wall at the top for safety. Lots of storage on a 14 x 14 footprint.
