Carol, in the Netherlands shares her creative idea!
I thought I’d send you some photo’s of the chair I upholstered.
This is the chair I use in my sewing room…
I used a faux suede material in blue and embroidered a few your redwork sewing
designs in different shades of blue.
It turned out really beautiful (the pictures don’t do it justice…)!
Thanks for the beautiful designs, I enjoyed stitching them. I loved the detail
in them.
The sets used were:
(You can click on the design name and the design set will open in a new window.)

This is just beautiful, thank you for sharing it. I an just a visitor, I just wanted to tell you that your work is great. Carolyn

Hi,
Thank you for the nice comments!
Michelle,
I made the pattern for the chair myself: I traced the contours of the chair onto calico (any cheap fabric will do) and then adjusted that till it fit perfectly. Then I used the calico pattern to cut the faux suede.
Embroidered the designs, reinforced the fabric with iron on stabilizer and hand sewed the covers on the chair.
Hope this is clear….

Carol, That was really a great idea, and you did a beautiful job with the upholstery! Just an idea for anyone scared of upholstering … making slipcovers, or even just a drape over the top of the chairs, with designs embroidered, makes a great splash of individuality for any room - especially for the holidays. i.e. Diningroom chairs with just the top slipcovered in gold or silver fabric and a metalic thread used with a Christmas design - and a matching tablecloth - makes a truly beautiful setting.
