Wrapping Up Loose Ends

by Carin Watkins

I use strong – clear table plastic, cut it in strips – about 1 inch in width and 5 inch long.

After using a colour – just roll the piece of plastic around the thread spool – and you will

see – the thread stay in place and it can be stored in your container.

It also prevent the cotton from drying out so easily.

Wonderful and inexpensive way to store thread! I’ve found though, that the lighter weight of vinyl works better for me.

Never thought to do this, but it makes sense. Thanks for the great tip.

I have two little grand Daughters and have they have rubber bands for their hair. I have found that the terry pony tail holders work great on any size spool I have. Put them in a plastic storage box and they will fit in your storage area. And they are so cheap it’s no big deal when they mess up.

I use the new removable tape on mine. It doesn’t gum up the thread and the same piece can be used several times before I have to replace it.

I recently purchased the 112 spools of thread kit, love the thread. The spools are plastic and with a carpet knife I made a slit in the base of the spool to insert the loose end of the thread. works great. Do not attempt this if you are not skilled using a carpet knife. It too bad the spool doesn’t come with the slit already there.
