I cannot stop searching for and downloading embroidery freebies. I reckon I have thousands already - and am always looking for more. Even though I dont think I would ever have enough time to sew them all out.

Its an obsession...

I think we all have thousands but that does't stop us collecting more. Although I digitize, because my family want pics done that aren't in my collection, every time I save one I justify it by saying I might need it one day.

You're not alone, It's pretty additive and never seem to have enough designs and probably not able to ever be able to sew them all either. Ginny1960

Yes - i'm learning to digitize at the minute - slowly... but I just love all the little pics and I keep thinking - well, I might need it for something...

My mum tells the story of when, as a little girl, I chased the bin men down the street cos of something belonging to me that my mum had thrown out. I've always been a hoarder... now for my designs too...

Oh well - I guess there are worse things to be addicted to...

I congradulate you, I'm still trying to do placement of multi designs together and find it time comsuming that's more than enough for me , however i would like to digitize howerver it would probably be even more time consuming. I wish you the best. Ginny1960

as you grow in this art you will find a niche that is tailor made just for you and your skills.I use the free designs to show me the latest techniques in digitizing. I am just learning to do that . And it helps me to know what is a good design and what is not..And even though I don't yet know how to fix what i might not like in a design. It is so nice to see it and know what it is. Happy hunting ladies!!!!!!!

So it helps you to know if it is a good design, that's interesting. I'll have to go to a dealer for a test run. Who knows maybe I will get into it. Thanks for the info. Ginny1960

I'm with you 100% on can't stop searching for and downloading them. I too must have at least 1000. It is truly an addiction. I used to even get up every hour to find the free ones - how bad is that. LOL Not any more.

I am glad I am not the only one to do the hourly thing - but I am weaning myself off that - did someone say compulsive obsessive disorder??

Digitising is quite hard (I find) but I have found a great on line tutor (Sue Lough - Memories in Thread) who has fantastic tutorials - really easy to follow, even for a simpleton like me. She is so good, kind and thoughtful. All her feedback on your efforts is positive. She gives you useful insights and feedback.

I think it will be a couple of years before I am proficient with my software - but in these difficult economic times it is not bad to have a growing string to my bow.

Ok - am off now to find some more free designs..........

I am addicted to free embroidery designs. I do searches for them. Even if it's one free one design just for signing up I sign up. Then I have to try it out.
