Well Deborah - I know your addiction to quilt blocks. Almost as bad as your addiction to ME!!! And I want these blocks. Not only do I have your address but you are not far away. I can get Luise and Reba to go with me on the hunt - lol.

Well I'll trust her to send us our blocks. she wants to come and do another quilt shop hop with us this spring - lol.
And we got one in June over in East TN that is much closer to her - so I'm sure we will treat us right. Now the rest of you may be on your own though - lol!!

I had a thought, maybe you should start getting them organized now, and take the pictures of the ones you have so your not so swamped by them all at one time, when the last ones arrive.

Right now I am pretty nervous because we have passed the deadline and I have less than half of the blocks so far. Luna e-mailed me last week to state that she was dropping and Chellcor was also.

Red indicates those I have so far (Also have Elisa and Noretta but don't know your user name ) Could you two please turn your names red so I know who you are? Thank you

Blue indicates drop outs.

Purple is on the way.

I will start photographing tomorrow night; about 3-5 pictures per person depending on the amount of different styles/designs used. I am excited to get these back for those holiday beds.

I sent my package last Saturday by priority mail. It should be there any time now.

I shall keep an eagle eye out for it. Pennie got her 50 state block fabric 2-3 days before I got mine, could be because I am in NC and Pennie is in AL. (Pennie should be moving to Charleston, SC this next year; DH is being transferred.)

I hope you don't mind me dropping my 2¢ in here, Deb. Not intending to be on a soapbox, just lending a little instruction here - lots of people haven't ever been in a swap, before.

I'd like to point out that after the deadline, swappers must always keep the swapmeister informed as to what's going on until they hear from her that their package has been received.

Swaps really have to be flexible - as a swapper or a hostess, you must go into them with the knowledge that some people are just not going to make the deadline - and it doesn't matter how far out you set it.

Some people (er, um.... like ME! ) will wait until the last minute to get started - so if you run into even a small snag, it will push you past the deadline.

But, as long as you keep the swapmeister informed as to when to expect your blocks, all is well. The hostess is the one who has to answer to all the other swappers, so if you don't communicate with her, you're making her look bad.

If you're struggling and behind, you could switch gears and do something simpler or you could just bite the bullet and jam until your blocks are done. It's hard work for a little while, but it's worth it when you get your blocks back. Do your level best not to drop out.

There are exigencies and emergencies and plain ol' human nature, of course. Everyone understands that and nobody gets mad - a little disappointed at times, but nobody is going to get ugly with you over it.

Remember when you sign up for a swap, you are committing yourself not only to a deadline, but to a bunch of people - people who are making things for you.
