October's Contest Thread

Another month to show off your projects using DBS designs.

First we are going to use this to post pictures only of items that you want to be posted for this event. Below is a list of this months themes to help you when planning your project. The themes are only for an aide in thinking of projects. You can enter anything you want. For example if you want to enter something spring in the winter you can.

You can enter 2 projects per month only.

After considering feedback from members I have decided that as long as you have at least one design from DBS you can include designs from other sources in your project. Even is it is just use DBS lettering. Just make sure to mention which DBS set you used in your project.

Each month I will offer different designs I digitized as prizes to everyone who enters. If there are any digitizers out there that would like to contribute a design of theirs to the winners please let me know.

Thes Lucky Winner gets all the designs
2nd Place gets 4 choices
3rd place gets 3 choices.

Again everyone who enters this month gets to choose 2 designs at the end of the contest. Every one who votes for the contest will get to choose one of my designs. Hopefully that will increase the number of votes and also give those who have not entered an opportunity to get one of my designs

As always please have fun and a special thanks for all those who participate making this a joy to us all. Here is some special holidays and national events observed that I thought would be nice to note.

• National Disability Employment Awareness Month
• National Hispanic Heritage Month Sep 15th thru Oct 15th
• National Breast Cancer Month
• National School Lunch Week Week beginning on 2nd Sunday in October
• National Forest Products Week Week beginning on 3rd Sunday in October
• White Cane Safety Day 15th of October

All designs offered this month are available in 2 sizes 4x4 and 5x7.

This month's contest will end on the 25th of the month to allow for the voting to begin.

You must include with your entry the name ot the DBS design set you used.

If you used a design from another source in addition to a DBS design please also state where the design came from.

Winners can choose whether to post instructions or not on how they made their project. This will make it easier for those that have difficulty writing in english. I will let the winners decide at the end of the contest is they want to write instructions or not.

The voting will start on the 26th to allow for time to listing everything that will be voted on.
The top three winners will have their pictures posted in a winner's folder and each month 3 more will be added.

You can do 2 different projects per month. Please post picture separate unless you want them to be voted on as a group. Again just 2 entries per person allowed each month.

You must include with your entry the name ot the design set you used.

Just to let you know that the one design that has a the letter s is also an applique design. The 4 sections stitch out. then the white star bursts then you set down the fabric or fabrics then the tack down is next. Then you trim around away excess fabric and stitch out the final satin edge. This would be great not only as a frame for a monogram but you could put anything else in the center. Also this could be used as a quilt block. The free standing lace bell has little bell designs in the lace.
