    Default Points - VIP menbership

    Hello everyone,

I have been a member for about 2 years now, and haven't really accessed these forums. I never have much time. But I have points and I'm curious, about what to do with them if I have a VIP membership. I would like to get the year end CD, but I can't see if that is an option.

    Thanks,

    LittleElf

LittleElf, unfortunately, you can't use the points for purchasing hard goods. Save the points for when your VIP membership runs out to purchase new sets, then when out of points, purchase another membership.

I also have a VIP Membership and that's what I plan on doing.

Thanks, but my membership is lifetime. That is why I was surprised I had any points at all.

Can I gift them to my aunt who introduced me to this place? It seems kinda useless for me to have points when I can't use them. You know?

Unfortunately, no, go here and read about points: http://www.designsbysick.com/points.php

Each point is worth 1 cent that can be used toward single design and design set purchases. If a design set is selling for $2.50 then you will need at least 250 points to purchase it.
Each purchase will subtract the point value of your purchased item from your total points.
Points may NOT be used to purchase hard goods such as threads, backings or VIP memberships.
Points may NOT be transferred to another person.
Points are linked to your forum username. Changing your forum username will cause you to lose all your points. Changing your email address in the forums will have no effect on your points.
Points have no real cash value, they remain SiCK cents.
    Enjoy!

This winter I plan to introduce a few games you can spend points on. Otherwise points won't do much if you are a lifetime member. I've played with the idea of transferring points to another account but in the past was afraid of fraud (multiple accounts). Security for this is much tighter now so transfers could be a soon option, I'll think on it more.

Ok, I posted a nice long answer to you, sorry, it has been lost. But basically, I appreciate your time and your response. I am happy to be a lifetime member. I love your designs and your site and there isn't another one quite like it that is as good. My local shop is creating buzz and getting buzz for your site. I like to say I was part of that, since when I moved here and became a member, no one up here, seemed to have a membership. I talked you up at my shop, and others and have recently been told by staff, that they joined and they are excited about your site as well. So the word around here is getting out. But being a lifetime member means that my points mean nothing. Going on FB and other places and even in this community mean that if I earn a whole bunch of points, I still can't use them. If I could get a partial discount on an a tangeable item, like the end of year CD, or a discount on a different $20 item once a year, I'd be happy. If I could "gift" my aunt or someone else the points, that would make me happy too? Some perk of sorts would be great. Perks, incentives, offer a reason to be involved beyond a membership. To be part of a larger community or group. To share ideas and experiences. These things are good for a community or group because sharing helps everyone. I think your company is awesome. I think what you do here is great. I am hoping to be around a while, to contribute. Thank you for looking at this and thinking about ways that points can be used by lifetime members.

I am a VIP member, and I have been voting on the new sets. I looked at my points balance today and noticed that I haven't received any points since May. I checked and I am logged in to the chat forums, so I am curious why I am no longer accruing points. I have even done the shares on Facebook since then, so I am really baffled....

Oceannova, look here for info on earning points. http://www.designsbysick.com/points.php
Also does it show your user name here on the home page: Forums/Points/Chat username: Shastasmom

If yes, and the other info applies, put in support ticket at http://www.designsbysick.com/contact.php click on last item and give as much info as possible.
