Couldn't help the tongue in cheek Phillipa.

Today was a visit to an ethnic minority village where wood carving has been a tradition for generations. Many of the hotels buy thier work to decorate their reception areas.Click image for larger version.

What a wonderful vacation you are having!
Minnesota is having unseasonably warm temps. February and in the 50's.
I have another quilt top ready, now to prep the batting and have hubby help stretch thing out tonight so I can finish it this week.
Hubby is finishing our upstairs project. We have decided since the baby will be in my sewing room that I will take one of the rooms upstairs for my sewing room. I am so excited to have a bigger room. I will be able to set up my mom's quilting frame. And I will be getting some new furniture to have it as a sitting/guest room.
I hope you all are having a nice day!

More rain today here today. Visited with son and the granddaughters for a bit this morning. As we were getting ready to leave, the 2-year-old was discovered in the kitchen sitting in the middle about a cup of coffee grounds. LOL! She was attempting to use her toy broom and dust pan to sweep it up and put the grounds back into the canister. But that's not all...! She had eaten some and had coffee all over herself from head to toe. Wish I had taken a picture. (I wonder how nap time went???!)

Keep us updated on nap time La Cole, kids keep us amused don't they?

Elen, glad you are getting a bigger sewing room.

We flew out of Paksi, Laos, & into Siem Reap in Cambodia today. We are staying at a lovely boutique hotel with a swimming pool & delightful staff. We had dinner at the hotel tonight which was just delightful. Henk enjoyed the curry he had so much he asked the girl who cooked it for a list of the ingredients. Her english is rather limited, so brought out all the containers & let us smell them all. The secret ingredient was aniseed!

Tomorrow we are going to visit the museum. Thank you all for your comments.

Now you will be adding fennel to your curries. it is amazing what curries tickle our taste buds. Julie, my DIL introduced me to Mussaman Curry. oh so gentle and nice. your hotel sounds nice Penny.

The girls can be a handful at times; never a dull moment. An evening check-up call revealed that naptime occurred without major interruption. So I guess not too many grounds were actually consumed. LOL At times I believe my son is getting payback x2!

Somehow the antics of grandchildren are funnier than those of children!

Anise is a flavor it seems one either loves or intensely dislikes. I'm one who likes it.

Penny is having such a nice time with her travels. We're lucky she likes to share!

I've finally started cutting out our Grandson's Graduation quilt. It always seems to take me a long time to get the cutting done. I'm anxious to start sewing now.

ID:	42908After our visit to the museum yesterday we visited some of the temples at the Angkor complex. Angkor was a city of over 1,000,000 people with a very complex canal & lake system which prevented flooding & provided plenty of usable water for its residents all year round. Its rise started in the 9th century & seemed to have declined in the 15th century. The temples are all that remains as the houses were wooden. Lider scans have revealed the general layout of the city. This is one of the gates to a temple.Click image for larger version.

Tracy, I also hope your surgery can be scheduled soon. The people I know who have had the surgery all say they felt so much better with the new knee. Prayers for a successful surgery and rapid recovery.

Tracy, Dianna had her knee replacement surgery done two weeks ago tomorrow (Monday 27th), it was done on the 13th. She is now pedalling 2 and 1/2 miles on an exercise bike. she has pain is weaning herself of the oxycontin that was prescribed post op. At first her PT was painful and she needed help with some of the exercises, but now she on exercises she doesn't need help with. she is mobile with the aid of a walker and her doctor says in says within six weeks she wont need the walker. She is glad she has had it done but will be waiting about 12 months to have the other knee done. you work through the pain and eventually you forget what it was about.

i had a total hip replacement done over 8 years ago and have never looked back. for several months after the surgery as the wound healed it did hurt, but eventually this to subsided, now I forget I have had it done. i was walking without crutches within five weeks and never used a stick. I am fully mobile and walk several miles a day.

Penny I love your photographs. This trip must be one of the best for you. I love the lotus farm.
