Me too........it seems like all the letters are so large. I want to be able to put a name that is part of the design, not the whole design.

That is pretty small. Would a 1" script like this work?
      http://www.designsbysick.com/details/adinascriptfont

Remember, small lettering is harder to read when stitched out than when printed out. In other words, a font of size 10mm is usually (but not always) more difficult to read when stitched instead of printed.

If the Adina font on this website doesn't do it, then you might consider LetterWorks program by Designer's Gallery. It is sold with about 100 -150 fonts but includes 5 or 6 which are specifically digitized to stitch very, very small. It is available as a package deal; the individual fonts are not available separately.

Quick question, what is the smallest font size one should go to when embroidering, before running into problems? For instance, if I wanted to do kids socks.

I would use what your machine can do, and then downsize it as small as the machine. My machine goes down 20%. You might have to add the letters separately on the screen.

Slashie, I don't know about Letterworks as this is the first I have heard of it. There is a free embroidery lettering program which I have used often. It is called EmbroideryFonts Plus. It is available at: http://www.embroiderydesigns.com/pro...res/1/EFP.aspx

It only comes with 3 fonts, which are not that small. Additional fonts are 9.95. I have purchased one, and I'm very happy with it.

There is another site which sells fonts for this program also. They have a Mini Block for 9.95 that is designed to stitch out at 5-10mm. It is at http://www.embroiderytools.com/html/...p=view&pid=344

I have not purchased anything from Embroidery Tools yet, but they do have many fonts for this program.

EFP program allows you to add words to any design, slant them, and curve them. If you decided to get it, I'd be happy to help you through it as the tutorial, IMHO, is not so easy at first.

I have a 4x4 hoop only, and I can only use .pes. EFP does not use .pes, so I use another free program, Wilcom Truesizer, to reformat the designs. I have stitched out several 4x4 with 5 lines of text using the free text that comes with it. It is very readable.

granny of 9...........I tried downloading the free version of Embroidery Fonts from Embroidery Designs but can't find any kind of a tutorial with it and don't know what to do with it. I just get a screen, don't know how to add words to it or anything.......so I can even see if I can make it work. What do I do next??

I'd love to see some simple traditional quilt designs that have the kind of symmetrical flowers or feather-type (I think that's what the swirled ones are called) designs, maybe hearts that are just a basic outline that tack your square together. I know there are some quilt designs on the site but they seem to be very involved and intricate for a lot of quilt needs.

      Default Tiny Font Wanted

I purchased a font called small from www.apexembdesigns.com for $9.95. It included a .25 and a .5 set. It has worked well for me. Hope this helps.
